Crystal Clear Perfection

On Thursday night, Waterford Crystal opened their newest retail show room on Newbury Street. A luxury, legacy retailer opening on Newbury Steet is nothing new, however Waterford waited 20 years to open a new retail store and picked Boston to call home. As you can imagine, the store is absolutely beautiful and sparkles endlessly as you walk through.

Thursday's fête included endless prosecco severed in signature Waterford flutes, ribbon cutting from Pierre de Villemejane Waterford's CEO, and a plethora of members from Boston's who's who crowd. The highlight of the evening perhaps, was snapping a selfie in the exquisite Solas $44,000 mirror (which I was told not to touch... good call on their part) I was so happy to attend the event with the beautiful Elissa Garza from Style-Wire and Boy's Night Boston bro, Dan Weidman. Along with myself, both willing schmoozed with Pierre and reporters from the Boston Globe. I blame/thank the prosecco.

One of the most exciting parts of the store is the hand etched vase specifically designed and created for the Boston store. Depicting scenes of the State House and Swan Boats in the Public Gardens, each piece takes 7 hours, etched by hand, to complete. With such a labor intensive process, no wonder these items fetch such a high price tag.

The Waterford Boston Store is located at 127-129 Newbury Street above the Jonathan Adler store between Clarendon and Darthmouth Streets.
