A Chill in the Air on V-Day

It was a fun filled Valentine’s Day weekend for Dave and me. I kicked it off with a visit to The Rhode Show to talk about non-traditional Valentine's Day gifts. I've written about this idea before, but this was my first time presenting it on TV. Ideas include cooking dinner with HelloFresh (Use HSSPL4 for $40 off your first box), an awesome gag gift from Dairy Queen, and a Netflix and Chill basket complete with a giant ottoman blanket from Findikli Design. It's really really cozy. Check out the clip below.

On Saturday, braving the extreme cold, I headed to the Boston Wine Expo with World Wide Wine of New England to sample, taste, and learn about wine. I tasted the best Cava I've ever had. They were even kind enough to have some signs made up for me. I was flattered to say the least. While a the expo, I was gifted a cute hand painted wine glass from Robyn With a Y, complete with a bowtie and rhinestones. I also caught up with my buddy Jeff at the expo and crashed the Infinity Lounge.

Saturday night, we headed to dinner with our recently engaged friends Kayla & Eric. Cheesy as it is, we love hibachi and enjoyed “dinner and show” at Bitsuteki in Cambridge inside the Courtyard Marriott. We joked that we had to eat there to be next to the cooktop so we could keep warm. The temperature in Boston at that point was 2 degrees. Yikes. We continuted to brave the cold and headed to Brian Poe's The Tip Tap Room for dessert and of course, more drinks.

Sunday (Valentine’s Day) was a super lazy day, sleeping late, cooking, eating a lot, and cleaning the apartment. We binge watched The Great British Baking Off on Netflix too… wild and crazy, I know. For Valentine’s Day dinner, we opted to stay in and cook. My buddies at Marley Spoon meal delivery service sent over a surf, and turf, option for dinner. I opted to make both (cuz we huuuuungry) which was a bit of a juggling act. The recipe was easy to follow, and the food itself incredibly fresh and tasty. My time management skills needed a little bit of help. Check out my Snapchat for the behind the scenes breakdown of the meal. HURRY, they expire tonight.

Next week I’m headed to NYC with Caitlin Croswell of CaitPlusAte.com for a taping of ABC’s The Chew and a food tour of Manhattan. Keep your eyes peeled on all my social to follow along. Life is good kids, life is good.
